Customer Success Associate (NSW)

The Role

To match rapid growth in customer demand, we are looking for a full-time Customer Success Associate to join our team in Sydney.

As a Customer Success Associate, you will have full autonomy for getting the best outcomes for current and prospective customers. You will manage our inbound enquiry channels, follow-up on applications in-progress and also support our existing customers.

In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also be a great team player, have excellent multitasking and organisational abilities, and be results driven.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build strong, friendly customer relationships to ensure long-term satisfaction
  • Provide friendly front-line support via live chat, email and phone in a timely manner
  • Work with customers from initial enquiry all the way through to funding education fees
  • Resolve problems and explain the best solutions to solve customer enquiries and follow up to ensure a positive resolution
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of our product and deliver it to our customers in simple and easy to understand terminology
  • Follow up on and manage customer payments with a flexible and friendly approach
  • Liaise with other teams to continuously improve our service and product offerings
  • Work closely with our credit and operations team to provide the best possible outcome for each customer

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Compassion, patience and experience in engaging with parents as current and potential customers
  • Experience in a similar support or customer-facing role
  • A passion for providing exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a number of different teams across the business
  • Ability to maintain calm under pressure
  • Willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Have an understanding of the need for client confidentiality
  • Motivated self-starter who can juggle multiple responsibilities and large volumes

In addition, the following would be a bonus:

  • Experience in finance, payments, or education sectors

Front End Developer (NSW)

The role

Edstart is looking for a passionate Front End Developer (React, TypeScript) to join our small but growing engineering team in Sydney.

We’re in the midst of developing new product features for our industry-leading in-house lending and payments platform. As a Front End Developer at Edstart, you’ll be working closely with our CTO and other engineers. You’ll be instrumental in helping us make the Edstart web presence industry leading.

Who we are looking for:

  • 2+ years relevant industry experience as a Front End Developer.
  • 2+ years commercial React and Typescript experience.
  • Design-minded: You have a keen interest in UI & UX, potentially coming from a designer background. You don’t not need to be a full-fledged graphic designer, but should be comfortable coding sites according to a very light graphical spec
  • Clever and inquisitive.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Passion: You view development as a craft and/or hobby. You probably spend lots of free time on Github, Hacker News, Stackoverflow etc.
  • Very good Uni grades or a self taught wiz-kid.

What you’ll be working on

  • Help making the Edstart web presence industry leading.
  • Website & web app UI revamp.
  • Work with the latest technologies in React and TypeScript. Don’t worry - there is no legacy spaghetti code here.
  • Work with a small, high-calibre team, where there is potential and indeed expectations to make a true business impact.
  • Work directly with the business to spec requirements and deliver.

Marketing Manager (NSW)

The role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing education and finance technology company. You will be responsible for our marketing with our B2B partners by managing campaigns and initiatives across our partner schools and providers to drive engagement and growth in new customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and manage marketing initiatives to with schools/education providers to generate growth and increase uptake of Edstart by parents/students at our partner schools
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to manage activities across the breadth of marketing strategies and channels. You'll not only strategise, but roll-up your sleeves to execute your plans, to increase brand awareness and engagement, and to drive customer acquisition through our education partners
  • Collaborate with the Partner Success team to optimise onboarding of new education partners, as well as support existing ones
  • Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimise accordingly

Requirements and qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in a marketing or growth role
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications or similar field
  • Proven experience developing marketing strategies, plans and campaigns, where you're able to understand the target audience and are able to solve their problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to take big, ambitious ideas and distil them down into concise, exciting talking points
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity
  • Good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills, with an ability to juggle competing tasks, priorities and manage own time
  • Flexible attitude, hard-working and results driven
  • Must have a passion for customer-led approach to marketing
  • Understanding of the Australian education sector is a plus

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (NSW)

The role

Edstart is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Kotlin, React) to join our small but growing engineering team in Sydney.

We’re in the midst of developing new product features for our industry-leading in-house lending and payments platform. As a Lead/Senior Fullstack Software Engineer at Edstart, you’ll be working closely with our CTO and other Software Engineers. You'll be influential in defining the future of the product, as well as Edstart's software architecture as we continue to evolve and lead the way for the industry.

Who we are looking for:

  • 5 to 7+ years experience as a Software Engineer
  • 3+ years in either Java, Kotlin, or Scala is preferred. Our tech stack is Kotlin, React, TypeScript, Postgres, AWS. If you don’t tick all the boxes, don’t worry, we rather hire Polyglot Engineers who are keen to learn new things.
  • An eye for detail and solid understanding of how to deliver quality software within a small start-up.
  • Passion - Views development as a craft and/or hobby. You probably spend lots of time on Github and Stackoverflow in your free time.
  • Experience with any other tech we're using a bonus: React, Javascript, Mobx, Shell scripts & Postgres.
  • Finance experience a big plus.
  • Relevant university degree is preferred.

  • Continue building out our industry-leading in-house lending platform using the latest tech. Don’t worry - there is no legacy spaghetti code here.
  • Work with a small, agile, high-calibre team, where there is potential and indeed expectations to make a true business impact.
  • We build most things in house and release to production several times per day.
  • Several new projects in the pipeline, as well as improvements to existing tech.
  • Career path: option stay deep in tech and progress to more seniority, or move to leadership if so desired.
  • Work directly with the business to spec requirements and deliver.
