Content and Communications Manager (NSW)

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated communications and content professional to join our team. You will be responsible for managing our communications across brand, marketing, sales, and customer experience.

We firmly believe in a customer-led approach to marketing and communications. You’ll be shaping our communications and content strategy to continue to drive our growth. You will connect the dots between our brand, our product and value proposition, the needs of key target segments and be able to align them through great storytelling.

The role will involve working across all aspects of content and communications, from developing brand and product messaging, writing articles for our blog, crafting engaging social media posts, telling incredible stories of our customers and partner schools, and producing media releases to support our PR activities.

In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also be a great team player, have excellent multitasking and organisational abilities, and be results driven.

Key responsibilities

  • Content creation from conceptualisation to completion, whether it be a blog, email, flyer, brochure, user guide, presentation, article or media release, advertising or web copy
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to manage content and communications across both Direct and B2B channels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Sales, Customer Success, Partner Success, Operations and Technology to deliver great outcomes for our business, our partner schools and our customers
  • Develop storytelling opportunities and generate new ideas for content that can be used across our marketing channels, such as blog articles, whitepapers and reports, PR, and videos
  • Continually measure effectiveness and impact of communications and content initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimise accordingly

Requirements and qualifications

  • 3+ years in a content or communications role
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or similar field
  • Demonstrated experience developing external focused communications strategies and content
  • A passion for great content that captures the audience’s attention
  • Strong storytelling experience where creating captivating copy and content to engage audiences is your bread and butter
  • Experience using SEO and web analytics tools
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle competing tasks and priorities and manage own time

Customer Success Associate (NSW)

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide front-line support via live chat, email and phone
  • Build strong, friendly customer relationships to ensure long-term satisfaction
  • Work with customers from initial enquiry all the way through to funding school fees

Front End Developer (NSW)

The role

Edstart is looking for a passionate Front End Developer (React, TypeScript) to join our small but growing engineering team in Sydney.

We’re in the midst of developing new product features for our industry-leading in-house lending and payments platform. As a Front End Developer at Edstart, you’ll be working closely with our CTO and other engineers. You’ll be instrumental in helping us make the Edstart web presence industry leading.

Who we are looking for:

  • 2+ years relevant industry experience as a Front End Developer.
  • 2+ years commercial React and Typescript experience.
  • Design-minded: You have a keen interest in UI & UX, potentially coming from a designer background. You don’t not need to be a full-fledged graphic designer, but should be comfortable coding sites according to a very light graphical spec
  • Clever and inquisitive.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Passion: You view development as a craft and/or hobby. You probably spend lots of free time on Github, Hacker News, Stackoverflow etc.
  • Very good Uni grades or a self taught wiz-kid.

  • Help making the Edstart web presence industry leading.
  • Website & web app UI revamp.
  • Work with the latest technologies in React and TypeScript. Don’t worry - there is no legacy spaghetti code here.

Marketing Manager (NSW)

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated marketing professional to join our team. You will be responsible for managing our marketing activities across both the Direct channel to reach and engage parents, and our B2B channel to support our activities with schools and education providers.

The role will involve working across all aspects of marketing, from above-the-line brand campaigns, digital marketing, direct and email marketing, social media, content, PR, events, and sponsorships.

We firmly believe in a customer-led approach to marketing and communications. You’ll be developing and managing initiatives driven by insights of our customers and partner schools to continue to drive our growth.

In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also be a great team player, have excellent multitasking and organisational abilities, and be results driven.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop campaigns and initiatives to target our key segments across paid and owned channels
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to manage activities across the breadth of marketing strategies and channels. You’ll not only strategise, but roll-up your sleeves to execute your plans, to increase brand awareness and engagement, and to drive acquisition across both Direct and B2B channels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Sales, Customer Success, Partner Success, Operations and Technology to deliver great outcomes for our business, our partner schools and our customers
  • Develop marketing resources to help our Sales team grow the number of partner schools, and to support our existing schools and education providers
  • Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimise accordingly

Requirements and qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a marketing or growth role
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications or similar field

Partner Success Manager (QLD)

The role

Edstart’s largest channel to families is through the schools offering Edstart, this is where our Partner Success Manager comes in.

As Partner Success Manager with Edstart, you will be a key point of contact with schools. Working closely with the Regional Manager(s) in your territory, you will take on day-to-day management of each onboarded school, ensuring that their expectations are consistently exceeded.

Your role will focus on enhancing the relationship with each school and exploring additional revenue opportunities for Edstart.

As one of the key faces of the team, you must consistently represent the business in an ethical and thoughtful way, which is well aligned with Edstart’s existing value set.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the key point of contact for Edstart’s partner schools in Queensland
  • Develop tailored communication and marketing strategies for each school to assist them in making Edstart available to their parents. This may include listing Edstart on school fee schedules, in newsletters, on invoices, in meetings with families, at open days etc.
  • Communicate regularly with various stakeholders at each school, which may include Business Manager / Bursar, Accounts Receivable, Enrolments / Marketing, Principal, Board Members etc.
  • Provide updates to schools on the take-up rate of Edstart amongst their parents
  • Identify areas where Edstart can improve their product offering for schools
  • Seek out opportunities for Edstart to provide additional services to schools, or offer existing services in a more integrated fashion
  • Work with the Sales Director and wider Sales team to develop a sales strategy, create KPIs, estimate revenue etc.
  • Work autonomously, be able to set your own-goals and be a self-starter
  • Be able to operate in ambiguity
  • Where relevant, travel to meet schools face-to-face
  • Build deep and long-term relationships with schools so that Edstart is well positioned to offer alternative products in the future

Regional Manager (VIC)

The role

One of Edstart’s largest channels to families is via schools offering Edstart, this is where the Regional Manager comes in.

As a Regional Manager with Edstart, you will focus on developing new and existing relationships with schools, spending the majority of your time engaging in face-to-face meetings with key school decision makers.

You will be the key member of our team based in Victoria and you will lead our school activity for this region. In addition, you will do some travel to Sydney to spend time with the rest of the Edstart team.

As one of the key faces of the team, you must consistently represent the business in an ethical and thoughtful way, which is well aligned with Edstart’s existing value set.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a lead relationship manager for Edstart in Victoria
  • Identify new schools and engage with them to partner with Edstart
  • Engage regularly with existing partner schools to further develop the Edstart relationship
  • Build and maintain close relationships with key school decisions makers for the long-term (typically Business Manager / Bursar, but may also include Principal and/or Finance Manager)
  • Identify areas where Edstart can improve their product offering for schools
  • Seek out opportunities for Edstart to provide additional services to schools, or offer existing services in a more integrated fashion
  • Work with the executive team to develop and enhance sales strategies
  • Work autonomously, be able to set your own-goals and be a self-starter
  • Travel to meet schools face-to-face on a regular basis
  • When appropriate, build and manage a high-performing team

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (NSW)

The role

Edstart is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Kotlin, React) to join our small but growing engineering team in Sydney.

We’re in the midst of developing new product features for our industry-leading in-house lending and payments platform. As a Lead/Senior Fullstack Software Engineer at Edstart, you’ll be working closely with our CTO and other Software Engineers. You'll be influential in defining the future of the product, as well as Edstart's software architecture as we continue to evolve and lead the way for the industry.

Who we are looking for:

  • 5 to 7+ years experience as a Software Engineer
  • 3+ years in either Java, Kotlin, or Scala is preferred. Our tech stack is Kotlin, React, TypeScript, Postgres, AWS. If you don’t tick all the boxes, don’t worry, we rather hire Polyglot Engineers who are keen to learn new things.
  • An eye for detail and solid understanding of how to deliver quality software within a small start-up.
  • Passion - Views development as a craft and/or hobby. You probably spend lots of time on Github and Stackoverflow in your free time.
  • Experience with any other tech we're using a bonus: React, Javascript, Mobx, Shell scripts & Postgres.
  • Finance experience a big plus.
  • Relevant university degree is preferred.
