Offering students a wonderful array of learning opportunities since 1998, The Springfield Anglican College is a vibrant, Christian co-educational school located in Greater Brisbane

The College wanted to improve their payment experience and offer flexible payment options to families in their tight knit community, however managing fee payments was increasing workload and time spent on admin for their team

The school

The Springfield Anglican College (TSAC) has been part of the Springfield community for almost as long as the area itself. Founded with humble beginnings, the College is now thriving with families from a growing and diverse range of backgrounds.

The College extends a high level of compassion to their community, and aims to make it as easy as possible for all families to access quality education. They recognise not all families have the same financial resources as others, and that unexpected events and economic challenges can significantly impact their ability to pay for essential services such as education.

The partnership

TSAC knew that not all families can easily pay their fees upfront and wanted additional payment options so families could pay more regularly in smaller instalments. By offering more school fee flexibility they can ensure families have greater access to an independent education without the added financial stress.


The College started by offering families fortnightly and monthly payment options via direct debit, but found the manual processing was creating complexities and a high workload in their team.


We were offering direct debit which we were managing ourselves prior to partnering with Edstart. It was very timely, each time it changed it required a recalculation and work on our behalf, taking up quite a bit of our team's day.

Calculating, implementing and recalculating payments and the increasing time spent staying on top of debtors was stretching the team’s capacity. Recognising this, they wanted a service they could rely on to support their families, streamline operational efficiencies and provide their parent community with more payment options and flexibility to adjust payments if there are changes to their budget or circumstances.

The results

Since implementing Edstart Plus, TSAC has been at ease knowing family payment plans are taken care of. The payment experience has been improved to offer every family flexibility to suit their needs, helping them access the education of their choice.


From payment processing efficiencies, increased visibility of families account status to better budgeting and overall time savings, the finance team has reaped the benefits in their daily operations.


Time saved from improved processes has meant the finance team’s resources are no longer stretched, and they can better focus on tasks that add value to the whole school.
